In climbing there are 2 different preferred methods being Imperial or Metric. One isn’t necessarily better than the other, it comes down to preference and availability in your area.
BOLTS & SCREWS
If you are using Metric, you will need M10 Bolts and the accommodating T-Nut.
If you are using Imperial, you will need a 3/8th bolt and the accommodating T-Nut.
The main screw used in climbing will be a timber screw. The screw head type doesn’t matter so long as it keeps the hold tight.
T-nuts
When it comes to T-Nuts, there are spiked T-nuts or screw-in. Spiked T-nuts are quicker and easier to apply but lack the longevity. Screw-in T-Nuts are the winner of the two at the expense of a slight cost increase and time investment with the added benefit of less maintenance when compared to the spiked T-Nuts.

Climbing holds can be fasten to a variety of different surfaces most commonly climbing panels. The most common and versatile way is by using T-nuts (either Metric or Imperial sizing) and using threaded bolts for easy application.
1. Position the climbing hold flat side against the wall with the bolt hole aligned with the T-nut or anchor point.
2. Insert the bolt through the climbing hold and attach it to the T-nut or anchor.
3. Tighten the bolt with a hex wrench until secure. Do not over tighten, as this can damage the hold or strip the threads.

Polyurethane is best used indoors to prolong colour and lifespan of the pieces. Not suitable for Outdoor use. Lifespan, colour and texture will change/reduce over time.
Equipment needed: Gum Boots, Pressure washer.
Pressure wash holds in a shaded environment, do not dry in the sun as it significantly damages the overall brightness of the hold. dry and store in a cool and shaded area.
If the holds have stubborn dirty spots, a chalk brush, toothbrush or something abrasive and applying soap and scrub until clean.
Allow the holds to dry in a shaded area until completely dry.

When it comes to deciding which climbing holds you need for your climbing wall can be a tricky and scary decision. Although there isn’t a one size fits all answer, it depends on a few different factors such as wall incline, climbing difficulty, climbing intent (e.g. training).
Slab wall (Incline +10°, +5°, 0°)
For a slab wall you would need to have small pieces that can be positive or negative. All Mad World Climbing sets will be compatible at these inclines.
Slight overhang (Incline -10° , -15° , -20° , -25°)
This is when small pieces become footers and when jugs start to become life savers. This is the ideal range for training variety in terms of bouldering. You could use most Mad World Holds at these inclines)
Overhang (Incline -30°, -35°, 40°, -45°)
When you are climbing at this steep of an incline, you will needing big pieces with small pieces being reserved for volumes or footers. For Compatible sets, search using overhang in the Mad World store to find the right fit for you.

Having a broken, threaded, stuck or seized T-nut is a heart breaking and frustrating experience. Depending on your accessibility to the back of the climbing surface, the solution may vary.
If your bolt it stuck to the T-Nut and the t-nut is in the wall
Cut out the t-nut using angle grinder (or similar). This option is the quickest albeit the most damaging to the climbing surface.
If your bolt is stuck in the T-nut but the T-Nut is loose: (Requires two people)
Have someone hold the stuck bolt and apply force to the t-nut as to create as much friction as possible. Have someone else go behind the wall and grip the loose t-nut with pliers. Once both people have a firm grip, one person turns the bolt while the other holds tight. This process is time consuming and curse words will be said but is the least damaging to your wall.
